> The Unitree Go2 Air is a compact robot dog for demos, education and video content: it has 12 degrees of freedom, reaches up to 2.5 m/s, carries a 360° LiDAR and runs about 2 hours per battery. It is available in the merarobots.com shop. For building your own applications, Unitree offers the Go2 EDU version.

## What is the Unitree Go2 Air and what is it good for?

The Unitree Go2 Air is a compact quadruped robot (a "robot dog") made by China's Unitree Robotics that walks up stairs and over rough ground, keeps its balance, performs preset actions and streams its camera feed to a phone app. It is built for demos, education, robotics classes and video content, not for heavy industrial work.

Key Go2 Air parameters as listed in the merarobots.com shop:

| Parameter | Unitree Go2 Air |
|---|---|
| Type | quadruped robot |
| Degrees of freedom | 12 |
| Speed | up to 2.5 m/s |
| Sensor | 360° LiDAR |
| Runtime | about 2 h |
| Payload | 3 kg |

Unitree describes the whole Go2 family as a robot that keeps improving through over-the-air updates: with the user's permission it connects to a cloud service and installs new software versions on its own. The [Unitree Go2 page](https://www.unitree.com/go2) also lists gaits learned in simulation, such as upside-down walking, adaptive roll-over and climbing over obstacles.

## Which Unitree Go2 versions exist and how do they differ?

The Unitree Go2 comes in several versions — the manufacturer lists AIR, PRO, X and EDU — that differ mainly in onboard computing, connectivity and programmability.

| Version | Best for | What stands out (per Unitree) |
|---|---|---|
| Go2 AIR | demos, education, video content | basic actions, app, camera feed, OTA updates |
| Go2 PRO | advanced users | 8-core CPU, 4G module with GPS, voice function, ISS 2.0 follow system |
| Go2 X | longer operation | long-endurance battery, charging pile compatibility |
| Go2 EDU | universities, research, integrators | full secondary development, foot-end force sensors |

For a company that wants a robot dog for demos and filming, the Air version is usually enough. If you plan your own software, autonomous navigation or integration with other systems, you need the EDU version — Unitree does not list code-level secondary development for the Air. On the higher versions, Unitree says of its ISS 2.0 side-follow system that "the remote control distance is over 30m", which helps with outdoor demos.

The merarobots.com shop sells the Go2 Air, alongside the Go2-W, a variant with wheels at the ends of its legs.

## Where to buy the Unitree Go2 in Poland?

The Unitree Go2 Air, the wheel-legged Go2-W and the larger A2 quadruped are listed in the merarobots.com shop. The current price and availability are in the shop or in reply to an enquiry sent to contact@merarobotics.com. MERA Robotics checks every robot before it goes to a client or an event.

Plan also for a spare battery if the robot needs to run longer than one session, and for the time of whoever will learn to operate it. Specs of other models are listed in our [humanoid robot catalogue](https://merarobotics.com/blog/humanoids).

## What can a business use the Go2 robot dog for?

The Unitree Go2 works best where motion, visuals and the "wow" effect matter more than physical labour or long conversations with guests.

- **Booth and stage demos.** The Go2 draws attention at trade shows, product launches and company picnics: it walks among guests, climbs stairs and performs actions from the app. Unitree notes that at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou a robot dog carried discus and javelin across the field.
- **Video and social media content.** The camera feed on your phone and simple controls make it easy to shoot robot's-eye footage or short videos starring the robot.
- **Education.** Schools, science centres and robotics clubs use the Go2 to show how balance, sensors and control work. The EDU version opens the door to programming classes.
- **Research and prototyping.** Universities and R&D teams use the EDU version to test navigation, mapping and control algorithms.

What the Go2 will not do: it will not replace an industrial inspection robot in harsh conditions (that is the job of machines such as the Unitree B2, with a 120 kg payload and IP67 sealing), and it will not hold a conversation with guests the way a humanoid robot can.

## Go2 or a humanoid robot for an event — which to choose?

The Go2 robot dog and a humanoid robot solve different problems at an event: the Go2 brings motion and spectacle, while a humanoid running conversational software greets guests and talks with them.

| Criterion | Unitree Go2 Air | Humanoid (e.g. Unitree G1) |
|---|---|---|
| Main role | spectacle, motion, filming | conversation, greetings, stage appearances |
| How to get it from MERA | purchase | rental with operators or purchase |

If you need a robot that talks about your offer, answers questions and poses for photos, a humanoid is the better fit. MERA Robotics rents Unitree G1 and H2 humanoid robots for events together with its own operators, while the Go2 Air robot dog is available to buy. ## What should you check before buying a Unitree Go2?

Before buying a Unitree Go2, check the version, the software and network security, because these decide what the robot will actually do in your company.

1. **Match the version to the goal.** Demos — Air; programming and research — EDU.
2. **Plan power.** About 2 hours of runtime per battery means charging breaks or a spare battery for an all-day event.
3. **Keep the firmware updated.** In 2025 security researchers published [UniPwn](https://github.com/Bin4ry/UniPwn), a vulnerability in the Bluetooth Low Energy Wi-Fi configuration interface of Unitree Go2, G1, H1 and B2 series robots. Install the latest firmware before using the robot on a company network and keep it on an isolated guest network.
4. **Prepare the space.** The Go2 needs free space and an even surface for acrobatic tricks; on a crowded booth, stick to walking and simple actions.
5. **Assign a handler.** The robot should not walk among guests without someone holding the app.

## How do you buy a Unitree Go2 through MERA Robotics?

The Unitree Go2 Air can be bought in the merarobots.com shop run by Warsaw-based MERA Robotics. The same shop carries other Unitree robots: the G1, R1, H1 and H2 humanoids, the Go2-W and A2 quadrupeds and the industrial B2. For an overview of which models are available to rent and which to buy, see the [robots for rent and sale catalogue](https://merarobotics.com/blog/robots-for-rent-and-sale). Questions about choosing a robot can be sent to contact@merarobotics.com.

## FAQ

### Where can I buy the Unitree Go2 Air in Poland?

The Unitree Go2 Air is sold in the merarobots.com shop. Price and availability come from the shop or in reply to an enquiry sent to contact@merarobotics.com.

### Can you rent a Unitree Go2 for an event?

MERA Robotics offers the Go2 Air for purchase, not for rent. For events, MERA Robotics rents Unitree G1 and H2 humanoid robots together with its operators.

### How long does the Unitree Go2 Air run on one battery?

The Unitree Go2 Air runs for about 2 hours on one battery, so an all-day demo needs charging breaks or a spare battery.

### Can the Go2 Air be programmed?

The Go2 Air is controlled from an app and performs preset actions. For building your own applications, navigation and integrations, Unitree offers the Go2 EDU version.

### Is the Unitree Go2 safe on a company network?
