In short

A humanoid robot at a marketing and advertising trade fair greets visitors to the stand, talks to them live as a brand persona, records short clips for social media and shows how a robot could work in a client's campaign. It makes sense on the stand of an agency or technology company at DMEXCO in Cologne and RemaDays Warsaw, with a concrete scenario and an operator. Humanoid robots with operators for trade fairs are rented, among others, by MERA Robotics (Warsaw, Poland).

A humanoid robot at a marketing and advertising trade fair works as a live demonstration of what a brand can do with technology: it greets visitors to the stand, talks to them in real time, records short clips for social media and shows how a robot could appear in a client's campaign. It makes the most sense on the stand of an advertising agency, an event agency or a technology company at DMEXCO in Cologne and RemaDays Warsaw near Warsaw. Keep in mind that visitors to these fairs are professionals who have seen plenty of attractions, so the robot needs a concrete scenario, not just a wave of the hand.

Which marketing fairs make sense for a humanoid robot?

A humanoid robot makes sense at fairs attended by the people who decide on campaigns and events: marketing directors, agencies and PR teams. Two events matter for companies from Poland and the German-speaking countries:

Fair City Date Who attends
DMEXCO Cologne (Koelnmesse) 22-23 September 2027 (dmexco.com) agencies, retail, technology and media
RemaDays Warsaw Nadarzyn, Ptak Warsaw Expo 26-28 January 2027 (remadays.com) owners of advertising agencies, print shops, designers, marketing and PR managers

According to the organiser, DMEXCO 2027 takes place on 22 and 23 September in Cologne, and its programme covers agencies, retail, technology and media. RemaDays Warsaw 2027 runs from 26 to 28 January in the halls of Ptak Warsaw Expo in Nadarzyn and is aimed at trade visitors.

At both fairs the robot can work on the exhibitor's stand or appear on stage during a presentation. General stand preparation is covered in our guide humanoid robot at a trade fair: how to organise it and what the exhibitor must provide.

What can a humanoid robot do on an agency or marketing company stand?

On an agency stand, a humanoid robot shows the service in action: the visitor does not listen to a description but talks to the robot and receives a clip of that conversation. Typical tasks:

  1. Greeting and qualifying the visitor: the robot asks which company the visitor works for and which event or campaign they are planning, then hands them over to a team member.
  2. Brand persona demo: the robot talks as a character with its own name and personality, to show what a brand ambassador for the client could look like.
  3. Live content: short videos and photos with visitors that the exhibitor and the guests post on social media while the fair is still running.
  4. Stage appearance: a conversation with the moderator or a seat on a panel about AI in marketing.
  5. Product recognition: a robot with a camera can recognise a client's product on display and talk about it.

A humanoid robot does not replace a salesperson or a campaign strategy. It works best as a conversation starter that keeps the right people at the stand. We write about the robot as a brand ambassador in more detail in humanoid robot as a brand ambassador at a trade show.

How do you show marketers that a robot is a communication channel, not a gadget?

A humanoid robot convinces marketers when the exhibitor shows a concrete use case and a measurable effect. It helps to have at the stand:

  • a conversation script tailored to the visitor's industry (retail, automotive, finance, events),
  • sample video material recorded with the robot, ready to play on a screen,
  • campaign data, if the exhibitor has its own and may disclose it,
  • a clear next step: renting for an event, a campaign with a robot, or buying a robot.

One example of how a robot can work in marketing is Edward Warchocki, a humanoid robot run by MERA Robotics. According to warchocki.pl, his content gets 1.5 billion views a month across his channels, and videos and reposts from the campaign for his own drinks in the DINO chain gathered, according to the campaign report, more than 20 million views on 5 platforms. More numbers are in reach of a humanoid robot in marketing: Edward Warchocki campaign numbers, and work with brands is described in humanoid robot in marketing campaigns, social media, reels and live streams.

What rules apply to a robot at a marketing fair?

A humanoid robot at a marketing fair is subject to the fair's regulations and to EU rules on AI and personal data:

  1. Exhibitor regulations: rules on demonstrating moving devices, noise levels, deliveries and stand height. Register the robot with the organiser before the fair.
  2. AI Act, Article 50: according to the European Commission, the transparency obligations of Article 50 apply from 2 August 2026, and AI systems that talk to people must be designed so that the person knows they are talking to AI. The robot introduces itself as a robot.
  3. GDPR: if the robot records images or sound, the exhibitor defines the purpose, retention period and legal basis, and informs visitors. Guidance for video devices is in the EDPB Guidelines 3/2019.
  4. Image rights in videos: footage with guests is published only with their consent. The simplest approach is to film people who want to appear.
  5. Leads: if the robot collects contact details, information on data processing must be available at the stand.

A detailed checklist is in humanoid robot with a camera at an event: GDPR, AI Act and image rights.

Who can provide a humanoid robot for a marketing fair, and how do you choose a partner?

When choosing a company to supply a humanoid robot for DMEXCO, RemaDays or another advertising fair, check whether it:

  1. has its own operators who stay with the robot throughout the fair,
  2. runs conversations on its own software and prepares a persona and knowledge of your offer,
  3. supports your visitors' languages, including English and German at DMEXCO,
  4. has marketing experience with a robot: campaigns, social media, media coverage,
  5. has delivered events abroad, if you exhibit in Cologne,
  6. checks the robot before the event and brings spare batteries.

MERA Robotics (Warsaw, Poland) rents Unitree G1 (about 132 cm) and Unitree H2 (about 182 cm) humanoid robots with its own operators for fairs, conferences and premieres in Poland and abroad, including an international fair in Cannes in September 2026. Conversations run on MERA OS, its own system that supports more than 30 languages, including Polish and English, and the robot can be given a name, a personality and knowledge of the brand's offer. The company also runs the robot Edward Warchocki, whose footage from Warsaw in April 2026 was covered by Reuters, CNN and BBC News, among others, and who appears in brand campaigns. MERA Robotics checks every robot before it goes to an event. Quotes are individual and depend on the robot's time on site, the venue and logistics; enquiries: contact@merarobotics.com.
