MERA OS is MERA Robotics' own system that lets a humanoid robot hold live voice conversations with its own persona, voice and knowledge of an event or brand. MERA OS supports more than 30 languages, including Polish and English, gives the operator a phone app to control movement and gestures, and is licensed to robot owners.

A humanoid robot straight out of the box can walk, keep its balance and move its arms, but it has no idea who it is supposed to be on a stand, what to say about a product, or how to answer a visitor who greets it in another language. That gap is filled by a software layer that ties listening, speech, knowledge and behaviour into one consistent role.
MERA OS is MERA Robotics' in-house system for running conversations through humanoid robots. MERA OS brings together live voice conversation, the robot's personality (persona) and voice, knowledge about the event or brand, an operator app on a phone, control of movement and gestures, and a camera-based image recognition module.
What the system is made of
| Component | What it does in practice |
|---|---|
| Live voice conversation | The robot listens and answers by voice during the conversation |
| Persona and voice | Name, character and way of speaking matched to the role |
| Event or brand knowledge | Answers about the programme, the offer and the host |
| Operator app | Control of the robot from a phone while it works |
| Movement and gestures | Control of the robot's movement and gestures |
| Image recognition | Recognising objects from the camera and reacting in conversation |
Each part can be judged on its own, but at a live event what matters is how they work together: a guest walks up, the robot greets them, stays on topic, reacts to what it sees, and the operator can step in at any moment.

Live conversation in more than 30 languages
MERA OS supports conversations in more than 30 languages, including Polish and English. In MERA OS the robot's voice is matched to the language of the conversation so that it speaks with a native accent.
At events with international guests, multilingual conversation means more visitors can be served without an interpreter at the stand. It still pays to decide in advance which languages the robot will use most, and to prepare knowledge and proper names for them: brands, products and speakers' names.
MERA Robotics works at events in Poland and abroad, including an international trade fair in Cannes in September 2026.
Persona: the robot as a brand ambassador
With MERA OS a robot can carry its own brand identity: a name, a character, a way of speaking and knowledge of the offer. The same robot can be a brand ambassador in a showroom or on a stand, and a conference host at another event.
A good persona is more than a name. When writing one, answer a few questions:
- Does the robot address guests formally or casually?
- Which topics does it enjoy, and which does it avoid?
- What does it do when it does not know the answer: admit it and point to a person?
- How long are its answers in a crowd, and how long on stage?
An example of a robot with a distinct persona is Edward Warchocki, a Unitree G1 humanoid run by MERA Robotics, whose character is described as confident, direct and humorous. Edward Warchocki hosts live streams on TikTok where he talks with viewers, and appears in brand campaigns and at events.
Event knowledge: the event profile
In MERA OS the robot's answers are prepared for a specific event, as an event profile containing knowledge about the client and the programme. A robot that knows the agenda, the speakers and the host's offer gives concrete answers instead of generic talk about robotics.
Useful inputs for an event profile usually include:
- the agenda with times and speaker names,
- a short description of the company, products or services the robot should talk about,
- the questions guests ask most often, with the right answers,
- topics the robot must not raise,
- practical information about the venue, such as where registration or the stage is.
The more precise the material, the less improvisation and the lower the risk of the robot saying something the organiser would rather not hear.
Operator app, movement and gestures
The operator runs the robot through the MERA OS app on a phone, and MERA OS also lets them control the robot's movement and gestures. At MERA Robotics events the robot is handled on site by MERA's own operators, and it runs on a battery with spare batteries prepared.
Having an operator matters in practice: in a crowd someone has to watch the space around the robot, decide when to move, and react when a situation needs human judgement. Even when the robot converses on its own, responsibility for how the event goes stays with people.
Camera-based image recognition
MERA OS includes an image recognition module that uses the robot's camera. With it the robot can recognise objects and react to them in conversation, for example recognise a product model on display and talk about it.
This is especially useful in showrooms and on product stands: a guest points at an item and the robot brings it into the conversation. Before going live, test recognition in the real setting, because lighting and the layout of the display affect what the camera sees.
Where robots with MERA OS work
The MERA Robotics fleet consists of Unitree G1 humanoids (about 132 cm tall, about 35 kg) and Unitree H2 humanoids (about 182 cm tall). MERA Robotics rents them out with operators for conferences, trade fairs, galas, corporate events, launches and openings, city and local-government events, and job fairs. At an event a MERA Robotics robot greets guests, holds live conversations, appears on stage and in panels, poses for photos, can record short social media videos and talks about the client's offer.
The rental process is described step by step in humanoid robot rental for events, and a permanent company deployment in humanoid robot integration for business.
MERA OS licence for robot owners
MERA OS is licensed to robot owners, and its users include clients in Poland, Romania and Germany. This suits companies and institutions that already own a humanoid robot and want it to talk to people in a defined role.
MERA Robotics also sells Unitree humanoid robots, such as the G1, together with MERA OS, and the deployment covers configuration, the robot's persona, training the client's team and a pilot launch. Models available to buy and to rent are listed in our catalogue of robots for rent and sale; the MERA Robotics robot shop is at merarobots.com.
How to evaluate a conversation system for a robot
Whatever the vendor, check a few things before choosing conversational software for a robot:
- Languages and voice – does the robot speak your guests' languages, and does it sound natural in each?
- Content control – can you describe the persona, knowledge and off-limits topics precisely?
- Changing context – how quickly can the robot be prepared for the next event or campaign?
- Operator role – does a person have convenient control over the robot while it works?
- Acoustics – how does the robot cope with trade-fair noise? Test it in a rehearsal in the actual hall.
- Team training – who on your side will run the robot, and what do they need to learn?
