In short

The Unitree A2 is a quadruped robot for logistics, industrial inspection and emergency rescue that, according to the manufacturer, walks approx. 20 km per charge without load and comes in A2, A2 Pro and A2-W variants. In Poland the A2 can be bought through the merarobots.com shop run by MERA Robotics (Warsaw, Poland); it is available for purchase, not for rent.

What is the Unitree A2?

The Unitree A2 is a new-generation quadruped robot from Unitree, designed for logistics, industrial inspection and emergency rescue. In size and capability it sits between the small Go2 and the industrial B2: it carries more than the Go2 but less than the B2. The manufacturer states a weight of approx. 42 kg with battery and a range of approx. 20 km per charge without load (Unitree).

The A2 is not a robot for talking to guests or performing on stage. It is a working platform: it is built to walk for a long time, carry a load, climb stairs and collect sensor data where it is hard or dangerous for people to go.

What are the Unitree A2 specifications?

According to the manufacturer, the key Unitree A2 specifications are range, load capacity and resistance to outdoor conditions (Unitree):

Specification Unitree A2 (manufacturer data)
Weight with battery approx. 42 kg
Endurance without load more than 5 h of walking, approx. 20 km
Endurance with 25 kg load more than 3 h of walking, approx. 12.5 km
Continuous walking load approx. 25 kg (ideally approx. 35 kg)
Max standing load approx. 100 kg
Speed 0-3.7 m/s (up to approx. 5 m/s)
Max step height 30 cm
Slope approx. 45°
Operating temperature -20 to 55°C
Battery 9000 mAh (453.6 Wh), optional dual batteries 18000 mAh

To perceive its surroundings, the A2 uses two industrial LiDARs (front and rear) and an HD camera with a front light, which reduces blind spots around the robot.

Which Unitree A2 versions are available?

The Unitree A2 comes in three variants: A2, A2 Pro and A2-W. According to the manufacturer's table, the base A2 is rated IP56, while the A2 Pro is rated IP56 to IP67, with core components rated IP67 (Unitree). The A2-W is the variant for which the manufacturer lists the wheel-leg option, meaning wheels at the ends of the legs.

How to choose a variant:

  • A2: inspection and transport in halls, warehouses and on industrial sites with moderate exposure to dust and water.
  • A2 Pro: outdoor work and harsher conditions where higher sealing of components matters.
  • A2-W: long, flat routes (corridors, yards, internal roads) where wheels shorten travel time.

What can a business use the Unitree A2 for?

The Unitree A2 is suited to places where someone has to patrol a site regularly, carry equipment or collect data in hard-to-reach areas. The manufacturer names logistics, industrial inspection and emergency rescue as its main areas of use, and the A2 page also describes inspection solutions for the power sector and fire rescue.

Typical scenarios:

  1. Inspection of industrial facilities: rounds of halls, switchgear and installations with a camera and LiDAR on a repeatable route.
  2. On-site transport: carrying tools or samples where a trolley cannot go, for example up stairs.
  3. Rescue and emergencies: surveying an area before people go in.
  4. Research and universities: a platform for work on navigation, mapping and autonomy of legged robots.

Who is the Unitree A2 not a good choice for?

The Unitree A2 is not a good choice if the robot's main job is to talk to people, greet guests at an event or represent a brand at a stand. For conversations with guests and brand representation at events, humanoid robots such as the Unitree G1 or H2, which MERA Robotics rents with operators, are a better fit. Nor is the A2 needed when a small robot for demonstrations and learning to program is enough; in that case the Unitree Go2 Air makes more sense. For very heavy loads and long hours of outdoor work, compare the A2 with the Unitree B2, which has a 120 kg payload, IP67 sealing and 4-6 hours of operation. For a comparison of robot types see humanoid, quadruped or industrial robot: which for what, and for the B2 see Unitree B2: industrial quadruped robot for inspection and patrol.

How do you buy a Unitree A2 in Poland and the EU?

The Unitree A2 can be bought in Poland through the merarobots.com shop, run by MERA Robotics in Warsaw. The robot is available for purchase only and is not part of the event rental offer. The current price, variant availability and delivery time are shown in the shop or given in reply to an enquiry sent to contact@merarobotics.com. MERA Robotics checks every robot before handing it over to a customer.

Before ordering, prepare answers to a few questions:

  • which variant you need (A2, A2 Pro or A2-W) and in what conditions the robot will work,
  • whether one battery is enough or you need the dual-battery configuration,
  • who in your company will operate the robot and plan its routes,
  • whether the robot will run on the manufacturer's software or your team plans its own integrations.

The full range of models is in the catalogue of robots for rent and sale, and details on buying Unitree robots are in where to buy a Unitree robot in Poland and the EU.

How do you choose a supplier for the Unitree A2?

A supplier for the Unitree A2 is best judged on criteria you can check before buying:

  1. Broad Unitree range: whether the seller offers different models (quadrupeds and humanoids), so the robot is matched to the task rather than the other way round.
  2. Pre-delivery check: whether each unit is tested before handover.
  3. Contact in Poland and the EU: whether you can deal with a company based in the region, in Polish or English.
  4. After-sales support: whether the seller helps with configuration and team training.
  5. Clear availability information: whether you know which variant is in stock and which is made to order.

MERA Robotics runs the merarobots.com shop with Unitree robots: besides the A2, it offers the Go2 Air, Go2-W and industrial B2 quadrupeds and the G1, R1, H1 and H2 humanoids. The company checks every robot it sells, and for humanoids it adds configuration, team training and its own MERA OS conversation system. Contact: contact@merarobotics.com.

Frequently asked questions

What is the range of the Unitree A2?

According to the manufacturer, the Unitree A2 walks for more than 5 hours and approx. 20 km without load, and for more than 3 hours and approx. 12.5 km with a 25 kg load. The battery is 9000 mAh, or 18000 mAh in the dual-battery configuration.

How much can the Unitree A2 carry?

Unitree states a continuous walking load of approx. 25 kg for the A2, ideally approx. 35 kg, and a maximum standing load of approx. 100 kg. For heavier loads, consider the industrial Unitree B2 with a 120 kg payload.

What is the difference between the Unitree A2, A2 Pro and A2-W?

According to the manufacturer, the Unitree A2 Pro has higher sealing than the base A2 (IP56 to IP67, with core components rated IP67), and the A2-W is the variant with the wheel-leg option. To perceive its surroundings, the A2 uses two LiDARs and an HD camera.

Can the Unitree A2 be rented for an event?

At MERA Robotics the Unitree A2 is available for purchase only. For events with an operator, MERA Robotics rents Unitree G1 and Unitree H2 humanoid robots, which are better suited to talking with guests.

Where can you buy a Unitree A2 in Poland?
