Agile ONE is an industrial humanoid from Munich-based Agile Robots SE, a spin-off of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). It is 174 cm tall, has 21-joint hands with force and tactile sensing, and since 2026 has been in series production at a new plant in Fürstenfeldbruck near Munich, in legged and wheeled versions.

History and launch

Agile Robots built its business on robot arms, cobots and grippers before adding a humanoid. At Hannover Messe in April 2026, Agile ONE greeted German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Economy Minister Katherina Reiche and assembled a miniature robot arm for each of them. The company also showed the smaller Agile ONE S, aimed mainly at research.

Production in Fürstenfeldbruck began in January 2026 and by late summer had entered series production. The company says humanoids now leave the hall every working day.

Hardware

The robot is 174 cm tall, and Agile Robots quotes a walking speed of 2 m/s. The Agile Hand has modular fingers, 21 joints and integrated force and tactile sensors, and every joint carries an in-house force-torque sensor. Perception relies on cameras, lidars and speech recognition, while a chest display, expressive eyes, light signals and voice report the robot's status. A proximity sensor supports safe work near people.

The plant builds both legged and wheeled machines, and most units shipping today roll. Agile Robots says this is partly regulatory: Europe and North America have no framework or standards yet to certify bipedal humanoids working alongside people, whereas the wheeled platforms are already certified.

Software and AI

Agile ONE runs Robot Foundation Models trained on real production-line data, simulation, teleoperation and human data from the company's data farms, tied together by the AgileCore software platform. In March 2026 Agile Robots announced a research partnership with Google DeepMind to combine Gemini Robotics models with its hardware, and it also trains on Deutsche Telekom's Industrial AI Cloud.

Use cases and deployments

The robot is meant to move between workstations on its own, work alongside people and the company's other robots, and handle manufacturing and logistics tasks. In September 2026 Agile Robots announced a physical AI partnership with Hitachi for manufacturing.

Manufacturer

Agile Robots SE was founded in 2018 by DLR researchers and is led by founder and CEO Dr. Zhaopeng Chen. Headquarters are in Munich, arms and cobots are built in Kaufbeuren, and humanoids in a 10,000 m² hall in Fürstenfeldbruck. The company reports more than 20,000 automation solutions deployed, mainly in automotive, electronics, healthcare and logistics.

Price and availability

Agile ONE is sold to industrial customers on request; no price is published.

Compared with the catalogue

  • At 174 cm the Agile One is taller than 66% of the humanoids in the catalogue (median: 170 cm).
  • It has 30 degrees of freedom against a catalogue median of 28; more degrees of freedom usually means finer arm and hand movement.
  • Its weight of 65 kg (catalogue median: 65 kg) matters for transport and for working around people.
  • It is the only Agile Robots SE model in the catalogue and one of 6 humanoids from Germany.
