4NE1 (also written 4NE-1) is a bipedal humanoid from NEURA Robotics of Metzingen, Germany, built to work next to people without safety cages in industry and services. Reservations for the Gen 3.5 version opened at CES 2026, with availability targeted for the end of 2026.
History and launch
4NE1 has gone through several generations. The third generation premiered on 24 June 2025 at Automatica in Munich. At CES 2026 in January the company opened reservations for 4NE1 Gen 3.5 and showed a smaller 4NE1 Mini.
At Automatica NEURA talked about a launch before the end of 2025; the reservation page now gives end of 2026 and notes the design may still be refined before release.
Design and technology
NEURA's product page lists a height of 180 cm, a weight of 80 kg, walking speed up to 5 km/h and a payload range of 10-100 kg, where the 100 kg figure refers to what its joints can lift. NEURA does not publish a degree-of-freedom count.
Safety relies on the patented NEURA Omnisensor and an artificial skin that senses an approaching person before contact; the robot is meant to tell people from objects and adapt its behavior. It has dexterous hands, exchangeable forearms and a dual-battery system that NEURA says allows round-the-clock operation.
For assembly NEURA uses what it calls NEURA Hive, a cell of several robots arranged in a circle that build 4NE1 components in a small footprint.
Software and AI
The robot runs within Neuraverse, which NEURA pitches as an app store for robots where a skill learned by one unit can be shared with others. Developers get Python and C++ SDKs, a ROS 2 interface, a digital twin and teleoperation.
NEURA develops with NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab, uses the GR00T N1 model and NVIDIA Jetson compute, and plans NEURA Gyms for collecting real-world training data.
Applications and deployments
Target uses include logistics, manufacturing and household or service tasks such as folding laundry, unloading a dishwasher or assembly. A welding system developed with Abicor Binzel is one partner example. NEURA has not disclosed how many humanoids it has delivered; it reports an order and deployment pipeline above 1 billion dollars across its whole range.
Manufacturer
NEURA Robotics was founded in 2019 in Metzingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, by CEO David Reger. It raised 120 million euros in a Series B led by Lingotto in January 2025, and in June 2026 announced a Series C of up to 1.4 billion dollars (about 1.2 billion euros, partly tied to milestones) with Tether, Qualcomm, Amazon, Nvidia, Bosch, Schaeffler and the European Investment Bank among the backers. Headcount grew from about 300 in early 2025 to more than 1,400 by mid-2026.
Alongside 4NE1 the company offers MiPA, a wheeled service robot of similar size.
Price and availability
4NE1 Gen 3.5 costs 98,000 euros per unit before tax for 1-19 units and 60,000 euros for 20 or more. A 100 euro reservation is fully refundable and credited toward the price. Third-party end effectors are not included.

Data and provenance for AI agents ↗Compared with the catalogue
- At 180 cm the NEURA Robotics 4NE1 is taller than 88% of the humanoids in the catalogue (median: 170 cm).
- It has 30 degrees of freedom against a catalogue median of 28; more degrees of freedom usually means finer arm and hand movement.
- Its weight of 80 kg (catalogue median: 65 kg) matters for transport and for working around people.
- It is one of 3 NEURA Robotics models in the catalogue and one of 6 humanoids from Germany.
