LG CLOiD is a home robot from LG Electronics with a head, a two-armed torso and a wheeled base. It was first shown at CES 2026 as part of LG's "Zero Labor Home" vision, in which robots and appliances take over chores. As of October 2026 it is not on sale.
History and launch
LG announced CLOiD on 4 January 2026 and showed it publicly at CES in Las Vegas (6-9 January 2026). Teasers in December 2025 showed only its hands, and press coverage treated it more as a proof of concept than a finished product.
At the booth it acted out household scenes: taking milk from a fridge, putting a croissant in an oven, starting a laundry cycle, then folding and stacking clothes.
Design and technology
CLOiD does not walk. It rides on a wheeled base with autonomous navigation derived from LG's robot vacuums and the LG Q9 home hub, with a low center of gravity meant to reduce the risk of tipping if a child or pet bumps it.
Each of the two arms has 7 degrees of freedom across shoulder, elbow and wrist, and each hand has five independently actuated fingers. The torso tilts so the robot can pick up objects from knee height upward.
The head holds the processor, a display, speaker, cameras and sensors. LG has not published dimensions, weight, payload or battery life. Alongside the robot it introduced AXIUM, its own brand of robot actuators combining motor, drive and reducer.
Software and AI
LG pairs a vision-language model (VLM), which turns images into language, with a vision-language-action model (VLA), which turns visual and spoken input into movement. LG says both were trained on tens of thousands of hours of household task data.
The head doubles as a mobile smart-home hub: it holds spoken conversations, shows expressions on its screen, learns household routines and controls appliances through ThinQ and the ThinQ ON hub. LG brands this "Affectionate Intelligence".
Applications and deployments
CLOiD targets domestic chores such as meal prep, laundry, moving objects and operating LG appliances. No customer pilots or production numbers had been announced as of October 2026.
Manufacturer
LG Electronics is a Seoul-based electronics and appliance maker. CLOiD comes from its Home Appliance Solution company, led by president Steve Baek.
