K0 is the first humanoid in the AI Sapiens line from ROBOTIS, the Korean company known for Dynamixel servos. It is 130 cm tall, weighs 34 kg and has 23 degrees of freedom. It is designed as a fully open research and education platform for training robots with reinforcement and imitation learning.
What it is
ROBOTIS describes AI Sapiens as its humanoid platform built on the new Dynamixel-Q actuators, with K0 as the first robot in the line: baseline hardware and software that others can extend. The company plans to publish the full bill of materials, STEP files, source code, simulation assets and tutorials so research, education and product work start from one reproducible base; resources are to be released in stages.
AI Sapiens sits within ROBOTIS's wider physical-AI line-up, alongside the AI Worker semi-humanoid, OMY and OMX arms and robotic hands.
Hardware
K0 is 1300 mm tall and weighs 34 kg, with 23 DoF: 5 per arm, 6 per leg and 1 at the waist, and up to 3 kg per arm. It uses Dynamixel-Q QM-060 and QM-080 quasi-direct-drive actuators with low gear ratios (12:1, 16:1 or 20:1), a high-torque motor and integrated electronics, designed for backdrivability and precise torque control. ROBOTIS notes that Dynamixel-Q is scheduled for release in the second half of the year and details may change.
Onboard compute is an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16 GB (up to 100 sparse INT8 TOPS). It has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, two Ethernet ports, USB and 24 V and 12 V power outputs, and runs on a 46.8 V, 9000 mAh battery. Head and body covers are provided as open 3D-printable files, so the robot's look can be customised.
Software and AI
ROBOTIS is developing reinforcement-learned locomotion for K0 in NVIDIA Isaac Sim, with the QDD actuators meant to narrow the sim-to-real gap. There is also a full imitation-learning pipeline: leader-follower data collection, training and running learned policies on the robot.
Price and availability
ROBOTIS has not announced a price. The product page reads as a pre-launch page, with several resources marked "coming soon", and enquiries go to a contact address and the company Discord.

Data and provenance for AI agents ↗Compared with the catalogue
- At 130 cm the ROBOTIS K0 is taller than 4% of the humanoids in the catalogue (median: 170 cm).
- It has 23 degrees of freedom against a catalogue median of 28; more degrees of freedom usually means finer arm and hand movement.
- Its weight of 34 kg (catalogue median: 65 kg) matters for transport and for working around people.
- It is one of 2 ROBOTIS models in the catalogue and one of 9 humanoids from South Korea.
