LimX Luna is a full-size bipedal humanoid from China's LimX Dynamics, built for public-facing work in malls, theme parks, trade shows and brand events. Despite some catalog listings, it is not a quadruped. It launched with pre-orders on May 26, 2026.
History and launch
Luna first appeared in public in March 2026 at the Taobao influencer festival. The official launch and global pre-orders followed on May 26, 2026.
Its feminine styling and fabric-wrapped body set it apart from LimX's industrial humanoid, Oli.
Design and hardware
LimX lists a height of 160 cm and 27 degrees of freedom excluding end effectors. Runtime is up to 4 hours per charge, which the company calls a 150% improvement over the previous generation, and the robot can run continuously on external power. Upgraded cooling cuts critical thermal metrics by 30%.
It is tuned for showy dynamic motion: runway walks, dance, spins and even full splits. Weight and specific sensors have not been published.
Software and AI
Whole-body motion runs on the second generation of LimX's System 0 motion foundation model. The LimX Studio app supports learning motions from video, manual motion teaching, a library of 10 dance routines and a no-code task editor that turns natural-language descriptions into triggers and workflows.
One operator can drive up to 200 units in sync. Safety covers external force detection, active fall mitigation, real-time action override and E-stops on the robot, in the app and on the remote.
Use cases
LimX targets malls, theme parks, auto shows, exhibitions, tourist sites and brand activations, including role-play NPC experiences. Enterprise knowledge bases can be loaded. No customers or shipment numbers have been disclosed.
Price and availability
The Chinese price is RMB 298,000 (about $41,000), with an RMB 40,000 discount for the first 100 buyers. Prices for other markets are to be announced.
