Engine AI SE01

SE01 is a full-size humanoid from Shenzhen-based EngineAI (众擎, Zhongqing), unveiled in October 2024. EngineAI presents it as the world's first full-size general-purpose humanoid with a human-like gait learned by an end-to-end neural network. It is 170 cm tall, has 32 degrees of freedom and a normal walking speed of 2 m/s.

History and launch

EngineAI was founded in Shenzhen in October 2023. It launched the SA01 biped platform in July 2024 and the flagship SE01 on 24 October 2024, which it says was the first time a robot achieved a natural human-like gait through an end-to-end neural network model.

In January 2025 EngineAI showed SE01 together with SA01 and the smaller PM01 at CES in Las Vegas. In February 2025 the company announced what it called the world's first front flip by a humanoid. Its line-up later added the JS01 quadruped and the full-size T800.

Hardware

EngineAI lists SE01 at 170 cm with 32 DoF and a normal walking speed of 2 m/s. Proportions and joint ranges follow human anatomy, the body is aircraft-grade aluminium alloy, and the core planetary, harmonic and linear actuators are designed and built in-house.

The robot has five-finger hands with 6 DoF and force feedback, an Engine Sense perception system combining LiDAR, a depth camera and an infrared camera, RGBD cameras, an IMU, a high-precision force sensor and two speakers. A quick-release battery gives about 2 hours of operation, according to EngineAI.

Software and AI

SE01's gait was trained end to end on large human-motion datasets, so it walks and turns smoothly and can also run, jump, squat and do push-ups. Vision-action coordination lets it adjust arm movements in real time, for example to grasp moving objects and avoid obstacles.

Manufacturer

EngineAI Robotics Technology Co., Ltd. is headquartered in Shenzhen with a branch in Hefei for R&D and assembly. It focuses on general-purpose humanoids and industry-specific solutions and also runs robot fighting tournaments.

Price and availability

EngineAI sells through its own store and sales team but does not list an SE01 price on the product page.
