PR-34D is a humanoid from Perceptyne Robots of Hyderabad, India, designed for dexterous industrial work. Its distinguishing feature is in-house torque sensing at every joint and tactile sensing across the hands. In 2025 it was a finalist in the Humanoid Robotics Industry Awards.
History and launch
Perceptyne began its humanoid work in 2022 with a white paper on core technologies and a decision to build key components (actuators, gearboxes, sensors, control) itself. In October 2025 PR-34D, which the company calls its flagship, was shortlisted for the Humanoid Robotics Industry Awards 2025 in the Groundbreaking Technology category.
Design and technology
According to co-founder Jagga Raju Nadimpalli, PR-34D's arms have 7 degrees of freedom with torque sensing at every joint, and the whole hand is covered with in-house tactile sensors at 2 x 2 mm resolution.
Perceptyne's current lineup includes PR-OMNI, a semi-humanoid with two 7-axis arms, a 2-DoF head, an 800 mm vertical gantry and a four-wheel holonomic base reaching 2 m/s. It stands 5 ft 2 in, weighs 120 kg, uses three RGB-D cameras, dual LiDARs, NVIDIA Jetson Orin and Intel NUC compute, and swappable 2 x 1.5 kWh batteries for about 6 hours of work. Perceptyne does not spell out how PR-34D maps onto its current product names.
Software and AI
The robots learn through teleoperation: a person performs a task while the system records joint angles, vision, force and grip changes, so the robot can later do it autonomously. Perceptyne supports VR teleoperation, runs its own PhI (Physical Intelligence) software layer and says it supports open-source models. Customers can preview deployments in NVIDIA Isaac simulation.
Applications and deployments
Perceptyne targets electronics manufacturing (EMS) and automotive plants for picking, placing, bolting, inspection, testing and assembly. It says its systems cut client costs by up to 40% but does not name customers or robot counts.
Manufacturer
Perceptyne Robots was founded in Hyderabad by Raviteja Chivukula (CEO), Jagga Raju Nadimpalli and Mrutyunjaya Nadiminti. Its first prototype was funded with a 500,000 dollar seed from family, friends and early backers plus government NIDHI-PRAYAS and Startup India Seed Fund grants.
