Spirit AI Moz1: specs, price, availability

Moz1 is a humanoid from Spirit AI (Qianxun Intelligence) of Hangzhou, China, which bills it as China's first humanoid with high-precision whole-body force control. It has 26 degrees of freedom excluding the hands and runs on Spirit AI's own vision-language-action models.

History and launch

Spirit AI unveiled Moz1 in June 2025, initially targeting industrial and logistics uses. At the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai in July 2026 and the World Robot Conference in Beijing in August 2026 it tidied a living room: identifying objects, breaking the instruction into steps and putting items into a fridge, dishwasher and bin.

Design and technology

Moz1 has 26 degrees of freedom not counting the hands. Every joint is an integrated module with force sensing; Spirit AI claims the highest power density in the world, 15% above Tesla's Optimus, a claim not independently verified. It uses whole-body control (WBC) and the company quotes a payload-to-weight ratio of 1:1.

Low-latency whole-body teleoperation is used to collect data, which Spirit AI says allows model updates within hours. Height and weight were not given in the sources we reviewed.

Software and AI

The robot runs Spirit AI's VLA (vision-language-action) model family. Spirit v1 handled tasks such as tidying desks, throwing out trash and pushing in chairs. In January 2026 Spirit v1.5 ranked first on the RoboChallenge real-world benchmark (30 tasks) with a score of 66.09 and a 50.33% success rate, ahead of Physical Intelligence's pi0.5. Spirit AI has open-sourced the model.

After its 2026 demos the company said living-room tidying efficiency improved by more than 15% over 30 days.

Applications and deployments

Spirit AI's stated sequence is industry first, then commercial services, then homes. It says it has studied more than 100 manufacturing and service scenarios, but the sources we reviewed name no customers or deployment numbers. A Zhejiang University of Technology academic said in January 2026 that the technology is not yet ready for large-scale deployment.

Spirit AI was founded in early 2024 in Hangzhou. Founder and CEO Han Fengtao was previously co-founder and CTO of industrial robot maker Rokae; co-founder Gao Yang is an assistant professor at Tsinghua University with a PhD from UC Berkeley.

The company raised 528 million yuan in a Pre-A round led by Prosperity7 Ventures (Aramco) in March 2025 and close to 600 million yuan in a Pre-A+ round led by JD.com in July 2025.
