KAI (KaiBot) is a humanoid from KinetixAI (超维动力), a Shenzhen company founded in July 2025. KinetixAI focuses on highly human-like robots and builds its own AI models, datasets and the KAI Hand dexterous hand for them. Detailed specifications for the KaiBot robot itself are not published in text form.
What KAI is
KinetixAI calls itself a full-stack embodied-AI company that believes robots can only meaningfully enter the human world by adopting human-like bodies, interaction and learning. KaiBot is its highly anthropomorphic humanoid platform. Alongside it, the company develops the KAI Hand, the KAI Halo Lite data-collection kit, the KAI EGO dataset, a world model, KAI Embodied AI Infra and SMASH, a test of perception and decision-making under fast, dynamic conditions.
Target scenarios listed are the home (living room, guest room, kitchen), the factory (sorting, transporting, screwing) and services (restaurants, hotels, shops). No customers or deployment numbers are named.
KAI Hand
The best-documented component is the KAI Hand, scaled 1:1 to an adult human hand. It weighs 750 g, measures 185 x 90 x 40 mm and has 37 DoF in total: 20 active, 1 passive and 16 compliant. It combines direct and tendon drive, uses a self-locking transmission to limit heat during sustained grasps and has quick-swap fingers. Fingertip grip force is 30 N, dynamic load per finger 2 kg and repeatability ±1 mm.
Fingertips carry tactile sensors, with an optional wrist-mounted stereo camera. Built-in compliance is meant to soften impacts while grasping. The hand supports CAN, CAN FD, RS-485 and EtherCAT at up to 500 Hz.
Manufacturer
KinetixAI (超维动力) is based in Shenzhen Bay Eco-Technology Park in Nanshan district. Its site lists earlier achievements of its team: a self-designed, mass-produced medical upper-limb exoskeleton, more than 100 L4 autonomous mining trucks commercialised in 2024, and a highly human-like humanoid named to Morgan Stanley's "Humanoid 100" list in 2024. No KaiBot price is published.

Data and provenance for AI agents ↗Compared with the catalogue
- At 172 cm the KinetixAI KAI is taller than 58% of the humanoids in the catalogue (median: 170 cm).
- It has 26 degrees of freedom against a catalogue median of 28; more degrees of freedom usually means finer arm and hand movement.
- Its weight of 52 kg (catalogue median: 65 kg) matters for transport and for working around people.
- It is the only KinetixAI model in the catalogue and one of 128 humanoids from China.
