Xiao Tuo (小拓) is a wheeled humanoid from Topstar (拓斯达) of Dongguan, China, a maker of industrial robots and injection-molding machines. Topstar says it is the first intelligent humanoid in China deployed in injection molding, where it picks, inspects and trays parts.
Hardware
Xiao Tuo rolls on wheels, so it can move between workstations without changes to the line, and comes in single- or dual-arm configurations. Each arm weighs 15 kg and carries 10 kg, a payload-to-weight ratio of 0.67 (Topstar contrasts this with a typical 0.2-0.3), with ±0.05 mm repeatability. Topstar's catalog lists the TWH020 wheeled humanoid, the TDM020 dual-arm humanoid and the TM010 humanoid arm.
Software and AI
The brain is an industrial embodied AI model developed on the Matrix Zhituo platform with the Greater Bay Area industrial software center and Zhipu AI; the cerebellum, or execution layer, is Topstar's X5 control platform. Topstar uses its own servo drives and end-effector vibration suppression, and feeds field data from customer sites back into model training.
Use cases and deployments
The robot works at the back end of injection-molding lines, sorting, inspecting and traying parts such as drone propeller blades without human help. At CHINAPLAS 2026 Topstar showed a line combining electric injection molding machines, automated inspection and the humanoid, which it says cut line labor costs by 60%, with one person overseeing 5-10 machines. In May 2026 the development team received China's National Workers' Pioneer award.
