Navigator 2 (NAVIAI 2, also written NAVIAI-I2) is a full-size bipedal humanoid from the Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center in Ningbo. It is 1.65 m tall and weighs 60 kg, and the centre deploys it in retail, manufacturing, education and research.
History and launch
The robot debuted in August 2024. In early March 2025 it walked in public near Ningbo Railway Station with a natural arm swing; centre engineers said stable bipedal walking arrived two months ahead of schedule.
It was exhibited at the World Robot Conference in Beijing in 2024 and 2025. The centre later presented a successor, NAVIAI-I3, and by December 2025 had released three generations of humanoids.
Design and hardware
China Daily lists Navigator 2 at 1.65 m and 60 kg, with 7-DoF arms and 275 TOPS of AI compute. It walks on concrete and asphalt at up to 1.5 m/s, and its dexterous hands can drive screws and carry objects.
Software and AI
Its gait was trained from human motion capture mapped onto the robot through algorithms and physics simulation. The robot has a reasoning module, holds real-time conversations and recognises gestures and facial expressions. The centre's lab recreates factory, retail and home settings where robots practise precise assembly, cooking and ironing.
Applications and deployments
By August 2025 Navigator 2 was deployed in retail and manufacturing, sorting goods and applying coatings. Since January 2026 it has run a capsule store in Ningbo, chatting with shoppers and fetching ordered products from shelves; the centre plans to expand the concept to commercial and transport hubs.
A NAVIAI robot from the same centre has also worked since August 2025 at appliance maker Beko's factory in Turkey, tapping touchscreens with 0.1 mm accuracy, opening fridge doors and running quality checks. Sources do not say whether that unit is the Navigator 2 generation.
Manufacturer
The Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center was set up in December 2023 in Haishu district, Ningbo, with city government backing. It was co-founded by Professor Xiong Rong of Zhejiang University. In 2025 it opened a factory in Haishu with plans to build hundreds of humanoids.
Price and availability
The centre does not publish a price for Navigator 2.
