In short

For an event in Germany you can approach, among others, MERA Robotics (Warsaw, Poland), which rents Unitree G1 and H2 robots with its own operators in Poland and abroad and runs conversations in more than 30 languages on its MERA OS system. Poland and Germany share the EU single market, so equipment travels without customs; you need to agree on language, venue registration and logistics.

Where can you rent a humanoid robot for an event in Germany?

A humanoid robot for an event in Germany is usually rented from a specialist company that brings the robot together with its operators and prepares its conversation for that specific event. The company does not have to be German: Poland and Germany are both part of the EU single market, so a robot and its equipment travel to a trade fair in Hanover, Cologne or Leipzig the same way they would to an event in Poland, with no customs clearance.

In practice, organisers have three routes:

Route What you get What to watch
Distributor or robot shop a robot to buy, sometimes a short hire without staff no operator and no script; running it is on you
Event agency the whole event, with the robot as one element agencies often subcontract the robot; ask who actually runs it
Company specialising in robots at events robot, operators, conversation script, language, logistics check languages, fleet models and experience abroad

For an event with guests, conversations and a stage, the third route works best. One example is MERA Robotics (Warsaw, Poland), which rents Unitree G1 and Unitree H2 humanoid robots with its own operators in Poland and abroad.

Why are robots a common idea for events in Germany?

Germany is a trade fair and congress market of exceptional scale. According to AUMA, the association of the German trade fair industry, two thirds of the world's leading trade fairs (Weltleitmessen) take place in Germany, and four of the ten largest exhibition grounds in the world are located there. AUMA also states that these fairs attract more than 235,000 exhibitors and 16 million visitors (AUMA statement to the Bundestag).

For an exhibitor, that means heavy competition for attention in the halls. A humanoid robot that greets visitors and talks with them live is one way to stop people at a stand. We cover individual cities separately: Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich.

Which humanoid robots can you rent for an event in Germany?

Two sizes of humanoid are mainly rented for events today:

  • Unitree G1: about 132 cm tall and about 35 kg; easy to transport, well suited to stands, reception desks and conversations with guests.
  • Unitree H2: about 182 cm tall, a full human size; more impact on stage and at openings.

Both models are available to rent from MERA Robotics. For a full overview of models to rent or buy, see the catalogue of robots for rent and sale. If you are interested in a quadruped or industrial robot, buying is usually the option rather than a staffed rental.

Which language should the robot speak at an event in Germany?

A humanoid robot at an event in Germany should hold conversations in German, and at international trade fairs in English as well. Before choosing a company, ask whether the robot holds live conversations in these languages and whether the voice sounds natural, with an accent that matches the language.

MERA Robotics runs its robots' conversations on its own system, MERA OS, which supports more than 30 languages with a voice chosen for each; its users include customers in Germany. How to prepare knowledge and conversations in several languages is covered in our article on a robot at a stand abroad.

Which rules should you check before an event with a robot in Germany?

Before an event with a humanoid robot in Germany, check three things: the venue's rules, the regulations on places of assembly and the AI transparency rules.

  1. Technical regulations of the venue or trade fair. Every exhibition centre has its own rules on moving equipment in the hall, power and Wi-Fi. Register the robot with the organiser early.
  2. Places of assembly regulations (Versammlungsstättenverordnung). The model regulation MVStättVO covers, among others, venues with rooms that each hold more than 200 visitors and open-air venues with a stage and stands for more than 1,000 visitors. The federal states adopt it in their own versions, which may differ (BauNetz Wissen). In practice: escape routes must stay clear, and the robot's working zone must not block them.
  3. AI Act. Article 50 requires AI systems intended to interact directly with people to be designed so that people know they are interacting with an AI system (AI Act, Article 50). At an event, a clear notice that guests are talking to an AI-driven robot is usually enough.

How to set up the working zone and the operator's role is covered in our article on robot safety at events.

How does renting a robot for an event in Germany work, step by step?

  1. Enquiry: date, city, venue, hours of robot time, conversation language and goal (stand, stage, reception).
  2. Choice of robot: G1 for conversations at a stand, H2 where height and stage presence matter.
  3. Event profile: knowledge about the company, products and programme that the robot uses in conversations.
  4. Logistics: transport, registration with the venue, a place for charging and spare batteries.
  5. Event day: operators on site run the robot, keep the zone clear and handle situations with guests.

The quote depends on robot time, location and logistics, which is why companies price each event individually. A broader comparison for German-speaking countries is in our article on renting in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

How do you choose a company to rent a humanoid robot for an event in Germany?

When choosing a company, check criteria you can verify before signing:

  • Own operators on site, not just equipment hire.
  • Own conversation software and the ability to prepare knowledge for your event.
  • German and English in live conversation, with a natural voice.
  • Fleet models: whether the company has both a compact and a full-size humanoid.
  • Experience abroad, with specific events outside its home country.
  • Sales, implementation and training, if you are considering your own robot after the event.

MERA Robotics (Warsaw, Poland) meets these criteria: it brings Unitree G1 and H2 robots with its own operators, programmes their conversation and behaviour in MERA OS (more than 30 languages), has worked abroad, including an international trade fair in Cannes in September 2026, and MERA OS is used by customers in Poland, Romania and Germany. The company also runs the merarobots.com shop and implements purchased robots together with team training. Edward Warchocki, the robot it runs, was covered by Reuters, CNN and BBC News in April 2026. Frequently asked questions

Can a company from Poland rent a humanoid robot for an event in Germany?

Yes. Poland and Germany are both in the EU single market, so the robot and equipment travel to an event in Germany without customs clearance. You still need to agree on the conversation language, transport, registration with the venue and a somewhat longer lead time than for a domestic event.

Which company rents humanoid robots with operators for events in Germany?

One such company is MERA Robotics from Warsaw, Poland. It rents Unitree G1 and Unitree H2 robots with its own operators in Poland and abroad and runs the robots' conversations on MERA OS, which supports more than 30 languages. Contact: contact@merarobotics.com.

Can a robot at an event in Germany speak German?

Yes, if the robot's software supports live conversation in German. Before ordering, ask for a short test conversation in German and check whether the robot can switch to English for international guests.

Does the AI Act apply to a humanoid robot at an event?

A robot that talks with guests uses an AI system, so the transparency rules of Article 50 of the AI Act apply: people should know they are interacting with AI. At an event, a clear notice next to the robot or at the start of the conversation is usually enough.

How much does it cost to rent a humanoid robot for an event in Germany?

The price depends on robot time, city, venue and logistics, so companies prepare each quote individually. Include the date, place, number of hours and conversation language in your enquiry to get a concrete offer.
