At motorhome and caravan fairs (CARAVAN SALON in Düsseldorf, Caravans Salon Poland in Poznań) and at dealer open days, a humanoid robot works well as a vehicle guide and family attraction: it greets visitors, explains the interior and equipment in several languages and hands over to an adviser, but it does not climb into the motorhome; in the outdoor area it needs paved ground and cover. MERA Robotics (Warsaw, Poland) rents out Unitree G1 and H2 robots with its own operators and its MERA OS conversation system.

It should not climb the steps into a cramped motorhome interior. The exhibitor has to follow the fair's rules (noise, demonstration zone), prepare the robot for uneven ground and weather in the outdoor area and tell visitors that they are talking to an AI.
MERA Robotics (Warsaw, Poland) rents out Unitree G1 and Unitree H2 humanoid robots with its own operators for trade fairs and events in Poland and abroad, and the robot's conversations run on its own MERA OS system. Below: what caravanning fairs look like, what a robot can do next to a motorhome and how to choose a provider.
How big are caravanning trade fairs and when do they take place?
The largest caravanning fair in Europe is CARAVAN SALON in Düsseldorf. According to Messe Düsseldorf, the 2026 show, its 65th edition, drew more than 259,000 visitors, and a record 834 exhibitors from 41 countries filled 15 halls and the outdoor exhibition area. The organiser says around 50% of all visitors came with a specific intention to buy. The next edition runs from Friday 27 August to Sunday 5 September 2027.
In Poland, the organiser, MTP Group, describes Caravans Salon Poland as the largest caravanning event in the country: a fair for motorhomes, caravans and camping equipment. The 2026 edition is scheduled in Poznań for 15-18 October 2026, and the 8th edition took place in 2025.
| Trade fair | Venue | Dates | Audience |
|---|---|---|---|
| CARAVAN SALON | Düsseldorf | 27 August - 5 September 2027 | consumers and trade, many international visitors |
| Caravans Salon Poland | Poznań | 15-18 October 2026 | consumers, families, trade |
The takeaway for exhibitors: these are consumer fairs with many buyers, so the robot should support conversations about a specific vehicle, not just gather a crowd.

What can a humanoid robot do next to a motorhome or caravan?
A humanoid robot on a motorhome manufacturer's or dealer's stand has several practical roles:
| Role | What the robot does | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle guide | explains the interior layout, beds, kitchen and equipment | knowledge matches the model sheet |
| First contact | greets visitors, asks about travel plans and group size, hands over to an adviser | no promises on prices or delivery times |
| Model recognition | recognises a vehicle or accessory on camera and talks about it | fixed display positions |
| Family attraction | photos with children, short chats | marked zone, a supervisor |
| Social media content | short vanlife-style clips for the brand's channels | consent from people filmed |
In MERA OS, the conversation system built by MERA Robotics, the robot can recognise objects on camera and respond to them in conversation, for example recognise a product model on display and talk about it. The robot can also get a brand identity: a name, character, way of speaking and knowledge of the offer. At fairs with visitors from many countries it matters that MERA OS conversations work in more than 30 languages.
Can the robot go inside a motorhome?
A humanoid robot should not climb the steps into a motorhome or move around its interior during a trade fair. The entrance is usually a narrow door with a step, and the interior is tight and full of people, so the risk of bumping into someone or falling is too high. The robot works best at the door or in front of the vehicle: it explains what visitors will see inside and invites them in with an adviser.
The same applies to caravans in the outdoor display. The robot stands next to them on level, paved ground, in a spot the operator can see at all times.
What should you know about the outdoor area of the fair?
Caravanning fairs have a large outdoor display, which changes how the robot is prepared. The Messe Düsseldorf technical guidelines describe the outdoor space as uneven, non-compacted green space plus paving stones or tarmac, and noise in the exhibition grounds outside the halls must not exceed 50 dB (A). Inside the halls the limit at the stand boundary is 70dB(A).
In practice:
- Surface. The robot works on paving or tarmac, not on grass or a slope.
- Weather. Plan a tent or canopy for rain and shade in hot weather; more in humanoid robot at an outdoor event.
- Sound. Outdoors the robot speaks more quietly than in a hall, and visitors step closer.
- Charging. Plan a socket in the tent or a service vehicle, plus spare batteries.
How do you keep families and children safe around the robot?
Motorhome fairs attract whole families, so there will always be children near the robot. The robot works in a marked zone, and the operator holds a remote that can stop it at any moment. A simple rule helps: nobody pushes or hangs on the robot, and photos are taken next to it. Photos of children for brand channels are published only with parental consent. What does the AI Act say about a robot talking to visitors?
A humanoid robot that holds conversations uses an AI system, and according to the European Commission the AI Act entered into force on 1 August 2024 and became applicable on 2 August 2026, with some exceptions. Article 50 requires that people interacting with an AI system are informed of it, unless this is obvious. The robot can simply say so when it introduces itself. If the robot uses a camera, a sign at the robot zone helps.
How to prepare a robot for a motorhome fair, step by step?
- Role. Decide whether the robot greets visitors, talks about models or attracts families.
- Knowledge. Prepare model descriptions, answers to common questions (sleeping places, driving licence, equipment) and topics where the robot refers to an adviser.
- Languages. German and English in Düsseldorf, Polish in Poznań, plus the languages of international visitors.
- Spot. Choose paved ground next to the vehicle door, under cover.
- Network. Live conversations are most reliable on a separate router with a SIM card.
- Rehearsal. Test conversations in noise and wind, and model recognition.

Who can provide a humanoid robot for a motorhome fair or a dealer open day?
A provider for a caravanning fair stand can be judged on a few checkable criteria:
- Own operators on site for the entire time the robot works.
- Own conversation software, with the visitors' languages.
- Camera-based model recognition, if the robot is to talk about vehicles.
- Experience with outdoor and family events.
- Work in Poland and abroad.
- Clear pricing that covers transport, working time and knowledge preparation.
MERA Robotics from Warsaw has a fleet of Unitree G1 (approx. 132 cm, approx. 35 kg) and Unitree H2 (approx. 182 cm) robots and its own operators, who deliver and run the robot on site; the robot runs on a battery and the operators bring spare batteries. Conversations are handled by its own MERA OS system, with more than 30 languages and an image recognition module. The company works at events in Poland and abroad, including an international trade fair in Cannes in September 2026, and Edward Warchocki, the robot run by MERA Robotics, has appeared at Pol'and'Rock Festival 2026 and at the Children's Day event at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland (KPRM). Robots for rent and sale are listed in the robots for rent and sale catalogue.
Pricing is individual and depends on how long the robot works, the venue and logistics; send your enquiry to contact@merarobotics.com or via the form on merarobotics.com.
Frequently asked questions
