Mirokaï is a family of social and logistics robots from Paris-based Enchanted Tools, founded by Jérôme Monceaux, one of the people behind Nao and Pepper. The robots have a cartoon-style animated face, two arms and ride on a ball instead of legs. They are meant to take simple chores off staff in hospitals, care homes, hotels and airports and to keep people company.
History and launch
Enchanted Tools was founded in Paris in 2021. A first prototype appeared in autumn 2022, and at CES in January 2023 the company showed two robots, Miroki and Miroka. They work identically and differ only in styling (a boy and a girl). The company says around 15,000 visitors met them at VivaTech 2023.
Mirokaï later appeared at ICRA 2024 in Yokohama, VivaTech 2024, CES 2025 and NRF 2025 in New York. At VivaTech in June 2025 the company unveiled a new shell called the "Explorer Suit".
Design and technology
The most distinctive feature is the base: the robot balances on a rolling sphere, which is meant to make it nimble in crowded spaces. Its face is an animated display in a head-shaped screen, with pointed ears and expressions inspired by animated films.
Rather than general-purpose hands, Mirokaï grasps purpose-designed handles fitted to trolleys and containers. In 2023 the company claimed a 97% grasp success rate. Enchanted Tools does not publish full specifications such as height, weight, battery life or payload on its main site.
Software and AI
The robot uses several AI layers: it understands natural-language requests, learns where objects and people are in a building and answers simple questions such as opening hours. Demonstrated tasks include putting objects back in place and taking a trolley to the hospital pharmacy on a schedule. A developer program lends prototypes to research labs, innovation teams and engineering schools.
Applications and deployments
The first hospital partner was Hôpital Broca in Paris (AP-HP), where the robot was to take over low-value tasks such as delivering meal trays. At the Institut du Cancer de Montpellier, a Miroki robot accompanies children through radiotherapy, in a project evaluated under the SIRIC Montpellier Cancer program.
The company also lists pilots at the Annie Girardot nursing home (June and July 2025, hydration reminders), a two-week concierge trial at Lyon-Saint-Exupéry Airport in late 2025, a partnership with APREH, and studies at US senior-care sites: Mather Institute in Evanston and LiveOak Day Care in San Jose (January 2026).
Manufacturer
Enchanted Tools is headquartered in Paris and led by Jérôme Monceaux, former executive VP at Aldebaran/SoftBank Robotics and lead designer of Nao and Pepper. Robotics 24/7 reported that the company had raised 17 million dollars in seed funding by early 2023.
Price and availability
In 2023 the company talked about a target price of roughly 30,000 euros per unit and a goal of 100,000 robots over ten years. The website now takes orders for first commercial deployments but publishes no price list.
