XMAN-R1 is a humanoid service robot from Shanghai-based KEENON Robotics, which IDC ranks as the largest maker of commercial service robots (including DINERBOT restaurant robots). It works at the Shangri-La Hotel in Shanghai, among other places, and as a barista at trade shows. KEENON does not publish a full technical specification in the text version of its site.
History and launch
KEENON introduced its XMAN humanoid series in 2025. In September 2025, alongside the series launch, it announced KOM 2.0, which it calls the first VLA model built for the service industry. The series includes XMAN-R1, the bipedal XMAN-F1 (premiered at WAIC in July 2025) and the compact XMAN-L1.
Software and AI
KOM 2.0 combines two systems: K-Mind, based on a multimodal VLM, plans tasks and interprets natural-language instructions, while K-Act, trained on real-robot data, executes smooth motions; the two run asynchronously. Domain knowledge comes from role-specific ProS models (restaurant, hotel, retail) and the K-Infinity dataset, built on hundreds of millions of real service interactions by KEENON robots.
In 2026 KEENON showed KOM 3.0, a VLA architecture with a latent-space world model that lets the robot evaluate likely outcomes before acting.
Applications and deployments
In October 2025 KEENON announced that XMAN-R1 had been deployed at the Shangri-La Hotel, Shanghai, greeting guests at the front desk and working alongside KEENON's specialised cleaning (C40), delivery (T10, T3, W3) and luggage (S100) robots; KEENON calls it the first hotel with humanoid robot staff.
At WAIC 2026 XMAN-R1 worked as a barista, picking up cups, preparing coffee and placing drinks at a latte-art printer. KEENON says all its humanoid demos ran without teleoperation. Its strategy is role-based deployment first (reception, delivery, cleaning) and generalisation later.
