VB1-I is a wheeled humanoid in the VersaBot family from Lanxin Robotics of Hangzhou, a maker of autonomous mobile robots and 3D vision. It has a dual-arm humanoid torso on a differential-drive base and, per Lanxin, works across heights from 0.2 to 2 m.
History
Lanxin showed its VersaBot (VB) humanoid family at the World Robot Conference in Beijing in August 2024, and in October 2024 local broadcaster HTV-1 featured the robot. The company describes VersaBot as a vision-only robot with a new global RGB camera and algorithms plus large models acting as its "brain". The current range includes VB1, VB1-I and VB2, plus a dedicated H6 mini chassis and an OmniHead module.
Hardware
Lanxin's spec sheet lists VB1-I at 700 x 610 x 1650 mm with 30 mm ground clearance. Each arm has 6 joints and the gripper carries 2 kg, with an operating height of 0.2-2 m. The two-wheel differential base reaches 1.5 m/s and turns within a 580 mm diameter. It navigates with 3D laser SLAM, uses a panoramic RGB-D vision system, runs 2-3 hours per charge and is rated for 0-40 °C.
VB1-I differs from the base VB1 mainly in its chassis: VB1 has four-wheel omnidirectional drive, 1.2 m/s top speed, 22 mm clearance and a 0.4 m minimum working height. Gripper payload and arm joint count are the same, so Lanxin's data does not support claims of reinforced joints for heavier loads.
Manufacturer
Hangzhou Lanxin Robotics, headquartered in Hangzhou with an office in Nagoya, has worked on 3D vision for mobile robots since 2016. It makes AMRs and autonomous forklifts, MRDVS 3D vision sensors and multi-brand fleet software, and says cumulative shipments have passed 10,000 robots. Tencent invested in its Series B, and it is a tier-one supplier to Huawei and BYD.
