VersaBot VB1 is a wheeled humanoid from Lanxin Robotics of Hangzhou, a company known mainly for 3D-vision autonomous mobile robots and forklifts. It has a two-armed torso on an omnidirectional base and relies mostly on cameras. It was shown at the 2024 World Robot Conference in Beijing.
History and launch
Lanxin presented VersaBot at the 2024 World Robot Conference. In October 2024 it featured in an HTV-1 Hangzhou News segment on companies in the city's Innovation Corridor. The current range lists VB1, VB1-I and VB2 versions.
Design and technology
Lanxin's spec sheet gives VB1 dimensions of 700 x 610 x 1650 mm, a four-wheel omnidirectional drive with speeds up to 1.2 m/s and a 580 mm turning diameter. Each arm has 6 joints and the gripper handles 2 kg. Working height spans 0.4-2 m and battery life is 2-3 hours. Navigation uses 3D laser SLAM.
The VB1-I keeps the same dimensions but uses two-wheel differential drive, reaches 1.5 m/s and works from 0.2 m. For humanoids Lanxin also sells an OmniHead module with a 360 x 90 degree field of view, face recognition and voice interaction.
Software and AI
Lanxin stresses that VersaBot is vision-first: it has a panoramic RGB-D system and a new global-shutter RGB camera, with algorithms and large models serving as its understanding layer. Lanxin calls it a multimodal interaction hub. We did not find any mention of native ROS 2 support in Lanxin's materials.
Applications and deployments
Lanxin lists industrial manufacturing, commercial services, home care, healthcare, education and entertainment. No humanoid deployment numbers have been given.

Hangzhou Lanxin Robotics started in 2016-2018 by developing 3D perception for mobile robots. The company says it later became a tier-one supplier to Huawei and BYD, brought in Tencent in its Series B, and has shipped more than 10,000 robots in total. It has an office in Nagoya, Japan.
