KUAVO (product page "Kuavo-MY") is a full-size general-purpose humanoid from Leju Robotics of Shenzhen, a company previously known for small educational robots. Leju offers it for guest services, manufacturing, research, education and home services. The text version of Leju's site does not include a full technical specification.
History and deployments
According to Leju's news page, KUAVO featured in several 2024 projects with large partners. At the AWE fair in March 2024 Leju and Haier presented a humanoid for home services. In May 2024 Leju announced work with China Mobile on AI products and industrial applications, in June 2024 a strategic agreement with the Hengtong manufacturing centre on scaling up KUAVO use, and at Huawei's HDC 2024 KUAVO appeared running the Huawei Pangu embodied AI model.
In November 2024 Leju launched a KUAVO variant for guiding visitors in showrooms and exhibition halls.
Software and AI
Leju emphasises imitation learning: digitising behaviour, collecting datasets quickly and building applications efficiently. It also offers a large-language-model Q&A system and a full-scale simulation platform.
The control software is open source: the kuavo-ros-opensource repository on GitHub covers building, simulation in MuJoCo, Gazebo and Isaac Sim, real-robot startup and control by joystick, VR or keyboard, and supports several hardware revisions (including 4 Pro, i.e. 4.2, and 4.5) plus a wheeled-base variant with arms.
Applications
Leju lists customer service and showroom guiding, automation of non-standard factory processes, embodied AI research, home services and elder care, smart-city services, outdoor patrols and hazardous-industry work.
Manufacturer
Leju (Shenzhen) Robotics has operated since 2016 and says it designs its own structure, core components and control systems. Besides KUAVO it sells small and mid-size bipedal humanoids such as Roban 2 and educational programming robots.
Price and availability
Leju does not list a KUAVO price on its website.
