MenteeBot is the first humanoid from Israel's Mentee Robotics, shown in April 2024 as a prototype for household and warehouse work. The company was co-founded by Mobileye founder Amnon Shashua and has belonged to Mobileye since February 2026. Later versions were developed as MenteeBot V3.

History and launch

Mentee Robotics came out of stealth on 17 April 2024 by releasing short videos of its prototype, without a press event or live demo. The clips showed the robot walking forwards and backwards, carrying a six-pack of water and moving a crate of fruit a few metres.

At the time Mentee said the first units would come off a production line in the first quarter of 2025. In February 2025 it presented the third generation, MenteeBot V3.

Design and hardware

Mentee published few numbers for the 2024 prototype. The main one was a payload of up to 25 kg. The company described the robot as dexterous enough for a wide range of tasks but did not release a full spec sheet (weight, degrees of freedom or battery life).

Software and AI

Mentee pitched MenteeBot as AI-driven at every layer. Locomotion was trained with a Sim2Real approach: reinforcement learning on a simulated robot, then transfer to hardware with little real-world data.

The robot built a 3D map of its surroundings on the fly with NeRF-based algorithms, stored semantic information in it (where objects and places are), localised itself and planned obstacle-free paths. It accepted spoken commands and was meant to learn new skills from observation and human feedback.

Applications and deployments

Target uses were household chores such as dishwashing and cleaning, and warehouse work such as lifting, carrying, organising and packing. The first prototype was not deployed with customers. Mobileye now plans first customer proof-of-concept deployments in 2026 and series production in 2028.

Manufacturer

Mentee Robotics was founded in Israel in 2022 by Amnon Shashua (founder of Mobileye and AI21 Labs, chairman), Lior Wolf (CEO, formerly an AI researcher at Meta) and Shai Shalev-Shwartz. By the 2024 launch it had raised US$17 million from its founders and Ahren Innovation Capital.

On 6 January 2026 Mobileye announced it would buy Mentee for about US$900 million (around US$612 million in cash, the rest in shares). The deal closed on 3 February 2026 and the company now operates as Mentee by Mobileye.

Price and availability

MenteeBot was not offered for sale and no price was given.
