Design and hardware
A wheeled base keeps the robot passively stable. Its collapsible torso extends to human height (3 ft to 5 ft 9 in, about 91-175 cm) and shrinks down out of the way when idle. It reaches 80 in vertically and 38 in horizontally on a 20.5 × 22 in footprint.
It has 21 degrees of freedom: 2 in the neck, 6 per arm, 1 per gripper, 2 in the torso and 3 in the base. Weave designs its own actuators, remote actuation system and safety systems. Soft fabric shells around a rigid core add passive safety and can be swapped or removed, and shutters on the head cameras show when the robot is working. Battery life is 8 hours with a 2-hour charge; connectivity is Wi-Fi.
Software and AI
Isaac 1 performs tasks and navigates autonomously by default, with remote teleoperation assistance when needed to make sure jobs get done. Owners control it through a smartphone app, on demand or on a schedule, and new capabilities arrive over the air.
