History and launch

Booster Robotics was founded in Beijing in June 2023. It showed the BR002 prototype in April 2024, and in August 2024 the T1 drew attention at the World Robot Conference in Beijing with ball kicking, push-ups and kung fu. In November 2024 T1 won the speed contest and the obstacle-avoidance and door-opening challenge at IEEE-RAS Humanoids 2024 in Nancy, France.

In July 2025 teams using Booster robots took first and second places at RoboCup 2025 in Brazil; Tsinghua University's Hephaestus team won AdultSize with T1. Booster later added the smaller K1 and, in July 2026, the flagship T2.

Hardware

Booster lists T1 at 118 x 47 x 23 cm and about 30 kg, with a 57 cm leg and 45 cm arm. The Basic and Standard versions have 23 DoF: 6 per leg, 1 at the waist, 4 per arm and 2 in the head. With grippers it has 31 DoF (7 per arm), and with dexterous hands 41.

Peak joint torque is 130 Nm, and each joint has dual encoders. Compute is an NVIDIA AGX Orin (200 TOPS), plus an Intel i7 on higher versions. It has a depth camera, a 9-axis IMU, a six-microphone array and a speaker. A 10.5 Ah battery gives about 2 hours walking or 4 hours standing, and the warranty is one year.

Software and AI

Booster emphasises openness, with comprehensive APIs, an open-source framework and tools, plus an app, Booster Studio and an agent store. Customer projects on its site include robot table tennis at Purdue University, the FALCON reinforcement-learning framework from Carnegie Mellon University and the FastTD3 algorithm from UC Berkeley.

Use cases and deployments

T1 is used mostly in research, education and robot competitions, especially robot soccer. At the World Humanoid Robot Games T1 supported more than 40 teams and took every medal in the 3v3 and 5v5 soccer events. In November 2025 Booster passed 700 humanoid deliveries to more than 200 customers, over half of them outside China.

Manufacturer

Booster Robotics was founded by CEO Cheng Hao, a Tsinghua University graduate; its core team comes from Tsinghua's robot control lab and the Hephaestus RoboCup team. Funding includes a Pre-A round (September 2024) and a Series A+ led by Beijing robotics and AI industry funds. It became an official RoboCup Federation partner in December 2024.

Price and availability

T1 is sold in Basic, Standard and Customized versions through Booster's store and sales team; no price is given on the English product page.
