Digit Robotics Xialan S0: specs, price, availability

Xialan (Chinese 夏澜) is a series of bionic humanoids from Shenzhen-based Digit Robotics (Shuzi Huaxia) with a realistic female face and detailed facial expressions. They act as a front-of-house face for companies and institutions: greeting visitors, holding conversations, guiding and performing on stage. The S01 and S02 walk; the newer R03 is stationary.

History and launch

Digit Robotics unveiled the first Xialan in August 2024, a few months after the company was founded. In December 2024 it co-hosted the opening of the 2024 Sci-Tech Innovation Conference in Shanghai alongside CCTV anchor Kang Hui, and it has appeared on TV shows including on Dragon TV.

In summer 2025 the company showed an updated S02 with eye tracking and lip sync, and at WAIC 2026 in July 2026 it launched the R series with the R03.

Hardware

Digit's spec sheet for the bipedal Xialan S02 lists 169 cm, up to 69 kg, more than 40 active body DOF and more than 26 facial DOF, with over 80% of human facial expressions reproduced. A 700 Wh battery lasts more than 2 hours, walking speed is at least 1.2 m/s and the operating range is -10 to 40 °C. It walks by teleoperation or along autonomously planned routes and can grasp simple objects. At WRC 2025 the company cited 29 active DOF in the face and neck and 22 expressions in 7 categories. The S02 and Xiaqi X02 spec sheets list identical body figures; the models differ in the head and face.

The R03 does not walk: it mounts on a desk or pole with adjustable height of 160-170 cm. It has 23 active and 40+ passive facial DOF, 30+ compound expressions, 4-DOF arms for waving, pointing and handshakes, an RGB camera in the chest and four microphones in the waist, hearing people at 1-2.5 m, and a waist that turns ±45° to face the speaker.

The company develops its own bionic skin and has shown an electronic skin with pressure sensing, aimed at future elderly-care uses.

Software and AI

Facial expressions are driven by a self-supervised model. The robot converses through a user-selectable large language model, and from the R03 onward without a wake word, in full duplex with interruptions. It runs the Juhao 2.0 system with fast and slow processing paths, scenarios are configured in RoboEase, and data and models can run on-premises.

Applications

Digit says Xialan works in government service halls, at ICT vendors, grid companies, major banks and universities as receptionist, adviser and brand ambassador, and appears at festivals, fashion shows and malls. In 2025 it starred in a picture-book stage play in Shenzhen, and in September 2026 an R03 worked on Huawei's stand at PT Expo in Beijing. Deployment numbers have not been disclosed; the company only said it delivered several dozen robots of all models in 2024.

Manufacturer

Digit Robotics (Shuzi Huaxia (Shenzhen) Technology Co.) was founded on March 12, 2024 and is led by founder Shen Jian. It raised an angel+ round from Cowin Capital in 2025 and more than 100 million yuan in a Pre-A round in 2026. AgiBot's website lists the Xialan brand under "Premium Selection".

Prices are not published. Appearance and face can be customised, and sales go through Digit's sales team, mainly in China, with showcases in Hong Kong.
