Duatic Alpha is a half-humanoid from Swiss company Duatic in Zurich: a two-armed upper body with vision mounted on a wheeled mobile base. It handles lifting and carrying in intralogistics, industry and research. Duatic now markets the system as DXTR.
History and launch
Duatic was founded in Zurich in 2024 as a spin-off of ETH Zurich research. Its DynaDrive actuators and DynaArm had already been used on the ANYmal quadruped, the ANYexo exoskeleton and Festo's BionicMobileAssistant.
Alpha was the first complete robot. A video on Duatic's site shows it detecting, approaching and grasping a 20 kg bag on its own. The current product page (whose title still reads Alpha Half-Humanoid Robot) calls it DXTR.
Design and hardware
It combines two quasi-direct-drive DynaArms, additional high-torque actuators and a wheeled base rather than legs. The DXTR spec sheet lists 12 kg continuous payload, 30 kg for 10 seconds with both arms, 0.99 m reach per arm, 2 m/s platform speed and 200 kg carried on the base. It is IP66 rated, runs on 48 V and uses hot-swappable batteries.
A Hannover Messe 2026 flyer gives different numbers for Alpha: 60 kg lift, 200 kg carry, 1.5 m/s and 12 hours of autonomy. The DynaArm alone weighs 9 kg, carries 6 kg and repeats to under 1 mm.
Software and AI
The robot uses ROS 2 and the arm software is open source. Arms accept torque, velocity, position or hybrid commands and, being backdrivable with impedance control, can sense contact. Duatic cites real-time AI decision-making and a vision system for object detection.
Use cases
Duatic targets warehouses: lifting totes, cartons and sacks on existing floor layouts without changing racking or adding safety cages. Its modules (DynaArm, DuaTorso upper body, DuaRover base) are also sold separately.
Company
Duatic AG is based at Affolternstrasse 42 in Zurich. It is a Swiss company, not Chinese as some catalogs list.
Price and availability

Verification and limitations
This entry requires an up-to-date manufacturer specification check.
MERA field measurement report: not published. Demonstration footage and manufacturer specifications are not a MERA test under event conditions.
Data and provenance for AI agents ↗Compared with the catalogue
- At 175 cm the Duatic Alpha is taller than 68% of the humanoids in the catalogue (median: 170 cm).
- It has 28 degrees of freedom against a catalogue median of 28; more degrees of freedom usually means finer arm and hand movement.
- Its weight of 65 kg (catalogue median: 65 kg) matters for transport and for working around people.
- It is the only Duatic model in the catalogue and one of 1 humanoids from Switzerland.
