Adam SP is the full-size version of PNDbotics' Adam humanoid, adding hands, wrists and more degrees of freedom to the Adam Lite. PNDbotics does not publish a detailed datasheet for this variant, so available figures come mainly from press coverage of the full-size Adam in 2025 and 2026.

History and launch

The Adam family started with the 25-DoF Lite version described in a 2024 research paper. PNDbotics showed full-size versions with hands from 2025, including at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai alongside the Adam-U data-collection robot.

In January 2026 the company released a video of the full-size Adam dancing the Charleston, framed as a whole-system stress test. At WAIC 2026 the robot gave its first public stair-climbing demo and was teleoperated through operator motion capture.

Design and hardware

Interesting Engineering (January 2026) described the full-size Adam as about 1.6 m tall and 60 kg with 41 degrees of freedom, including 3 in the waist and 2 in each wrist. At WAIC 2026 Gasgoo reported a 167 cm version with 43 DoF. Actuators are patented QDD units with up to 360 Nm of torque.

Numbers differ between events and PNDbotics uses several names (SP, Pro), so the exact configuration should be confirmed with the company.

Software and AI

PNDbotics combines model-based gait planning, whole-body control (WBC) and deep reinforcement learning. Its real-time PND-Network is said to support 100 to 200 degree-of-freedom nodes.

Manufacturer

PNDbotics was founded in 2023 and makes its own actuators, encoders, reducers and electronics, with production in Ningbo and Tianjin. In February 2026 it raised several hundred million yuan in a round led by CITIC Goldstone, following TV appearances on CCTV and CGTN.
