The PUDU D9 is the first full-size bipedal humanoid from China's Pudu Robotics, a company known for delivery and cleaning robots. It is 170 cm tall, weighs 65 kg and has 42 degrees of freedom, and Pudu pitches it for service and object-handling tasks.

History and launch

Pudu unveiled the D9 in December 2024 as the third Pudu X-Lab product that year, after the wheeled D7 semi-humanoid and the DH11 dexterous hand. The launch video showed it walking, handling obstacles and slopes, and cleaning floors with Pudu's SH1 scrubber.

At launch Pudu said pre-sales would open soon and took inquiries through its website. As of October 2026 we found no public information about D9 deliveries.

Design and hardware

Pudu's product page lists 170 cm and 65 kg, with 42 independent degrees of freedom: 6 per leg, 7 per arm and the rest in the hands. Peak joint torque is 352 Nm. Maximum payload is 20 kg (10 kg per arm, test conditions), and top walking speed is 2 m/s.

Each 500 g PUDU DH11 hand has 11 DoF (6 motor-driven, 5 passive), 12 tactile regions with 1,018 sensing points and up to 30 N of fingertip grip. The robot carries RGB and RGBD cameras, tactile sensors and an IMU, a 275 TOPS compute module, stereo speakers and a 15 Ah (0.72 kWh) battery.

New Atlas noted Pudu's claims that the D9 can climb stairs and slopes, recover when pushed off balance, and build real-time 3D semantic maps for navigation.

Applications and deployments

Pudu markets the D9 as "Born to Serve" and shows it cleaning, carrying warehouse boxes and stocking shelves. New Atlas pointed out these were renders, not confirmed deployments, and Pudu itself notes that some promoted features are not yet available to customers.

Manufacturer

Pudu Robotics is headquartered in Shenzhen. In late 2024 New Atlas reported about 80,000 robots shipped to 60 countries and US$192 million raised over eight rounds, with Meituan among the investors. By June 2026 Pudu said it had shipped more than 130,000 units to over 85 countries and regions.

Price and availability

No price has been announced; inquiries go through Pudu's sales team.
