Memo is a home robot from Sunday, a Silicon Valley company. It has two arms on a stable wheeled base and a soft silicone shell, and it learns chores from people wearing a special glove rather than from teleoperation. Sunday itself stresses that Memo is not a conventional bipedal humanoid.

History and launch

Sunday unveiled Memo on November 19, 2025, alongside its ACT-1 AI model. The company says Memo had only one arm in December 2024, when its first learned task was arranging shoes. A Founding Families beta is due in fall 2026, and the robot will be sold only after beta testing and a production ramp.

Hardware

Memo sits on a low, wheeled base. It rests at about four feet tall for most tasks but can lower itself to the floor and reach about seven feet with its arms. Sunday argues that unlike bipedal humanoids it spends no power on balance and will not fall if power is cut.

The shell is soft silicone with no sharp corners and can be wiped with household cleaners. Its limbs are compliant and yield to touch. Buyers will choose colorways and personalized hats.

Software and AI

The core idea is the Skill Capture Glove. Memory Developers wear it at home, and their movements train Memo's on-board model. Sunday has shipped thousands of gloves and says Memo does not learn through teleoperation in customers' homes. It describes ACT-1 as a foundation model trained on zero robot data, and in July 2026 previewed ACT-2, focused on reliability.

Use cases

In demos Memo clears plates and delicate glassware, collects utensils, dumps food scraps, loads and runs the dishwasher, pulls an espresso and folds socks, mostly at about half human speed. Sunday acknowledges that reliability and generalization across homes still need work.

Manufacturer

Sunday (Sunday Inc.) was founded by CEO Tony Zhao, co-creator of ALOHA and formerly at Google DeepMind and Tesla, and CTO Cheng Chi, inventor of Diffusion Policy. The team is based in Silicon Valley. In March 2026 it raised a $165 million Series B at a $1.15 billion valuation led by Coatue, with Bain Capital Ventures, Fidelity, Tiger Global, Benchmark and Conviction among others.

Price and availability

Sunday says a single hand-built unit currently costs about $20,000 to make and expects volume manufacturing to cut that by at least half. Retail pricing will be announced closer to launch.
