TORA-ONE is a wheeled humanoid built by PaXini of Shenzhen, China, not by Japan's Tokyo Robotics as some catalogues state. Its distinguishing feature is dense touch sensing in its DexH13 hands, and PaXini presents it as a platform for manipulation work and AI data collection.
History and launch
According to 36Kr, PaXini introduced TORA-ONE as its second-generation multi-dimensional tactile humanoid at the 2024 World Robot Conference in Beijing, together with the DexH13 hand.
At CES in January 2026 the robot made ice cream on stage: it worked a dispenser lever, handled ingredients, picked up a wafer and handed over a cup. The larger TORA-DOUBLE ONE was shown alongside it.
Design and hardware
TORA-ONE has 47 degrees of freedom: 21 in the body and 26 in its two four-fingered hands (13 each). Height adjusts from 1.46 to 1.86 m and single-arm payload is 5 kg. It does not walk; an omnidirectional wheeled base moves it at up to 1 m/s, and PaXini quotes up to 8 hours of battery life.
Vision comes from five cameras and two depth cameras, and navigation from LiDAR SLAM. The DexH13 hands carry nearly 2,000 PX-6AX tactile sensors that read 15 kinds of tactile information (including six-axis force, texture and elasticity) at 0.01 N resolution, plus an 8 MP camera in the hand.
Software and AI
The robot fuses camera and touch data in a single perception model. PaXini also sells a multimodal data collection system that it says is more efficient than teleoperation, and claims it can generate nearly 200 million data records a year for sale through a cloud store.
Manufacturer
PaXini Tech was founded in Shenzhen in June 2021. Its core business is tactile sensing (it says it shipped close to a million sensing chips in a year), along with dexterous hands and humanoids. Backers include BYD and JD.com. It raised over RMB 1 billion at a valuation above RMB 10 billion in March 2026 and another RMB 1 billion in August 2026, which it says brings its total to RMB 3.5 billion. Bloomberg reported that it is weighing a Hong Kong IPO.
Price and availability
PaXini has not published an official TORA-ONE price or sales figures.

Data and provenance for AI agents ↗Compared with the catalogue
- It has 47 degrees of freedom against a catalogue median of 28; more degrees of freedom usually means finer arm and hand movement.
- It is one of 2 Tokyo Robotics models in the catalogue and one of 128 humanoids from China.
