Walker S2 is a full-size industrial humanoid from Shenzhen-based UBTECH that swaps its own battery and can work around the clock. It has been in mass production since November 2025 and ships to car plants, logistics sites and data collection centers.
History and launch
Walker S2 is the latest model in UBTECH's industrial Walker S line, which the company has been trialling on Chinese automotive assembly lines for several years. It has been available to industrial buyers since July 2025.
On November 17, 2025, UBTECH announced mass production and delivery of a first batch of several hundred units, targeting 500 deliveries in 2025. In January 2026 it said Airbus had purchased Walker S2 to explore humanoids in aircraft manufacturing.
Hardware
According to the SDK documentation, the robot is 176 cm tall with a 177 cm arm span and weighs 70 kg without hands. It has 42 degrees of freedom driven by integrated joint motors: 2 in the head, 7 per arm, 2 in the waist, 6 per leg and 6 per third-generation hand. Both arms together carry up to 15 kg, and the waist rotates ±162°, giving a working range from the floor to 1.8 m.
Its signature feature is a dual-battery system with autonomous swapping: the robot removes and inserts its own pack in under three minutes and can run in single- or dual-battery mode. Power comes from a 48 V Li-ion pack, and the documentation lists about 2.5 hours of combined endurance. Perception uses a head-mounted RGB stereo pair with learned depth estimation, plus a depth camera, six-axis force sensor, IMU and fisheye camera.
Software and AI
The on-board computer pairs x86 with NVIDIA Jetson Orin, running Ubuntu and UBTECH's ROSA 2.0 with OTA updates. On top sit Co-Agent, an industrial agent for intent understanding, task planning, tool use and anomaly handling, and BrainNet 2.0, which coordinates multiple robots on a production line as a swarm.
Use cases and deployments
Walker S2 is used in automotive manufacturing, smart factories, logistics and data collection centers. UBTECH lists partners including BYD, Geely, Dongfeng Liuzhou, FAW-Volkswagen Qingdao, Audi FAW, BAIC, Foxconn and SF Express. In September 2025 it signed a record 250 million yuan contract, and a data-center deployment in Zigong was worth 159 million yuan.
UBTECH says humanoid orders reached 1.4 billion yuan (about $200 million) in 2025. An Omdia estimate cited in Chinese media puts its 2025 humanoid shipments at about 1,000 units.
Manufacturer
UBTECH Robotics is headquartered in Shenzhen and led by founder and CEO James Zhou. It has been listed in Hong Kong since 2023. First-half 2025 revenue was 621 million yuan with a 440 million yuan loss. The company targeted 5,000 units of annual capacity in 2026 and 10,000 in 2027, and in January 2026 spoke of more than 10,000 units in 2026.
Price and availability
The robot is sold to industrial customers, usually as a turnkey solution for a specific process. UBTECH does not publish a list price.

Data and provenance for AI agents ↗Compared with the catalogue
- At 176 cm the UBTECH Walker S2 is taller than 81% of the humanoids in the catalogue (median: 170 cm).
- It has 42 degrees of freedom against a catalogue median of 28; more degrees of freedom usually means finer arm and hand movement.
- Its weight of 70 kg (catalogue median: 65 kg) matters for transport and for working around people.
- It is one of 6 UBTECH models in the catalogue and one of 128 humanoids from China.
