X-Humanoid Tien Kung 2.0

In development

Tien Kung 2.0 (Tiangong 2.0, "heavenly craftsman") is the second generation of the full-size bipedal humanoid from the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, also called X-Humanoid. Shown in May 2025, it was meant to move the Tiangong platform from running demos toward industrial work, with stronger arms and hot-swappable batteries. It was succeeded by Tiangong 3.0 in February 2026.

It was succeeded by Tiangong 3.0 in February 2026.

History and launch

The innovation center in Beijing's Yizhuang (E-Town) district unveiled the first Tiangong on 27 April 2024 as an open "mother platform" for the industry. Version 1.2 MAX followed in August 2024, and in April 2025 the Tiangong Ultra variant won Beijing's first humanoid half marathon in 2:40:42.

Tiangong 2.0 made its public debut at the China Beijing International High-tech Expo on 8 to 11 May 2025, where the center described it as a new generation about to be formally released.

Design and technology

According to the center, Tiangong 2.0 added terrain-adaptive walking, a combined two-arm payload of 16 kg and a dual hot-swap battery system aimed at continuous work in factories. At the expo it moved smoothly between standing and walking, talked with visitors and performed tasks coordinating arms and legs.

Earlier, in February 2025, the center demonstrated vision-based walking for the Tiangong family: climbing multi-step stairs and 35 cm steps without pre-scanning, running at 12 km/h, including on snow, and staying upright after hard shoves. A full spec table (height, weight, DoF) for version 2.0 was not published.

Software and AI

The robot runs on the center's Huisi Kaiwu (Wise Kaiwu) platform, which pairs a "big brain" for task understanding with a "cerebellum" for motion. The center also publishes open tools such as the Tien Kung-Lab motion control framework and the RoboMIND dataset.

Applications

X-Humanoid pitched version 2.0 at industry, specialized operations and logistics sorting. The maker's website now presents the Tiangong family for guided tours, security patrols (opening doors, reading gauges) and moving totes in industrial logistics.

Manufacturer

The Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center (X-Humanoid) is based in Beijing's Yizhuang economic development zone and was set up to develop shared technology for China's humanoid industry. At the first Tiangong launch in 2024 it was led by general manager Xiong Youjun. It develops successive Tiangong generations, the wheeled Tianyi and AI models, and runs open-source projects.

Price and availability

No price was given for Tiangong 2.0. In February 2026 the center released its successor, Embodied Tiangong 3.0, with more open hardware and software interfaces, which is the model now offered.
