The Q1 (Qiyuan Q1 in Chinese, also reported as QUESTER1) is a small humanoid roughly 0.8-0.9 m tall that folds into a backpack. It was unveiled by AgiBot co-founder Peng Zhihui but is sold under PrimeBOT, the consumer robotics brand of AgiBot-controlled Shangwei New Materials, and targets developers, schools and families.

History and launch

Peng Zhihui (known online as Zhihuijun) revealed the Q1 in a Bilibili video on December 31, 2025, billing it as the first small humanoid with whole-body force control and as a "personal robot".

The corporate setup is unusual. In July 2025 AgiBot announced it would acquire at least 63.62% of listed composites maker Shangwei New Materials, and Peng became its chairman in November 2025. The Q1 launched under that company's new PrimeBOT brand rather than AgiBot's own name.

Prices were announced and pre-orders opened on September 20, 2026.

Hardware

The robot stands about 0.8 m tall (some reports say 88 cm) and folds to about 0.5 m to fit a 30-35 litre backpack. The company says it weighs about one eighth of a full-size humanoid.

Its joints use quasi-direct-drive actuators, low-ratio motors that tolerate impacts and allow force control, and it is designed to survive falls. The shell is fully swappable, including 3D-printed custom covers. Degrees of freedom and battery capacity have not been published.

Software and AI

Built-in features include voice conversation, dance coaching and English tutoring. A graphical, no-code environment turns commands into motion, and the Explorer edition opens an SDK, HDK and expansion ports for full development and custom apps. PrimeBOT runs a PrimeStore skill store and lists content partners such as Ximalaya, QQ Music and Youdao.

Applications

PrimeBOT is initially targeting children, as a companion and for K-12 education, though press reports say early buyers are mostly developers and schools. The company says more than 1,000 developers have joined its creator programme, and at one trade show a Q1 carried a hand module measuring heart rate, blood oxygen and temperature.

Price and availability

The base model costs 19,999 yuan and the Explorer edition 26,999 yuan. Orders in China go through WeChat, Tmall and Douyin with a 1,000-yuan deposit, and franchised experience stores operate in seven cities including Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hangzhou. By the end of June 2026 the business had collected 210 million yuan in prepayments without yet booking revenue. There is no information on sales outside China.
